no, I don't eat much meat...

... really, I don't. But there are times when only one of these will do...

Maze strip steak

Oh. God. Yeah.

(More on this to follow. A prize of a pat on the head for anyone who can guess/identify - without cheating - the restaurant. The same for anyone correctly identifying the type of steak. The judge's decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.)

Well, Brits will have an unfair advantage, lol. I'm going to miss out on that pat on the head for sure. I don't suppose there's a restaurant called "Medium Rare", is there?

nice try, Manggy. But no. Three points for effort, though... ;)

My guess is the Gaucho Grill. But it is just a guess.

kake - sorry, but computer says 'no'. Retry/abort/delete.

Oh Good God that looks good. I reckon it's either Maze or the Maze Grill. Jason Atherton likes sticking the knifes in like that doesn't he? (no pun intended there....)

Argh! As my google reader loaded it told me the picture was named "XXrestaurantXXX, XXXtypeXXXX steak". And I just said that in the previous two comments, but saying what it told me. So I had to delete them so other people stand a fair chance at a pat on the head. Though I'm now highly suspicious of anyone who nails it in case they found out the same way I did... :( boo hoo

Dammit! I really thought I had that one. I'm not going to look though, I'm going to wait for your comment SpaghettI!

The Savoy Grill? Just a wild guess from down under.

aforkfulofspaghetti said...

Heh. I'll leave it open for a few more guesses yet... especially on the type of steak...

"Computer says 'no.'" OMG! I cannot believe you just referenced this! Ha ha ha!! Won't you follow it with a cough to the face? :P

Oh I didn't see the question about the steak. Shall I start then? I think it's a REALLY big sirloin.

I agree.

Hey you! Methinks you have taken me the wrong way on my last post. I'm certainly not sad, just a little nostalgic, time flies you know! I'm the proudest dad in the world.

Cheers

I have no Restaurant-Or-Meat-Identifying-Skillz. But I feel I should pay my respects to that hefty steak. I'm impressed XD.

I couldn't begin to guess the restaurant. The meat type? I wanna say it almost looks like a large London Broil...but it seems a little too fatty on the edges.

too funny , your first sentence, then your first picture had me rolling!

That's a mighty fine picture too!

Okay, I'm gonna reply before I read the other comments.

That does look slightly El Gaucho-ey, but I dunno Brit eateries (and I'm sure the knife/cutting board is the gimmick). Is that a skirt steak?

I too got the 'XXX steak' message, but I doubt it was as good as the PorterHouse I had in Benjamin's Steak House, New York earlier this year...mmmm...can still taste it! :-)

Oh, sad, no prize for me. I can't do either. It looks like a great steak, though.

Your photos are absolutely beautiful. I will keep looking at your site so that I can learn a thing or two. Thank you for sharing.

i say sirloin, based on nothing whatsoever.

holy crap, but that looks good.

That steak looks divine - yum! I love the knife with 'medium rare' on it. Great touch.

That looks amazing. Is it a NY Strip?

Pete said...

Definitely Maze Grill, the cut I'm not sure about, but the breed is definitely Cash Cow.

Well done everyone else for having a stab, so to speak.
