Ahem.
*taps microphone*
Anyone still there?
If so, you have the patience of a saint, and your reward is a nice, big piece of chocolate cake.
I've been busy, a bit unwell, and generally all over the place of late, so blogging hasn't been high on my list of priorities, as you've most probably noticed. Maybe.
Anyway, I thought I'd break my deafening silence to let you know about two things. One - is that I haven't been entirely idle all this time. Not quite. In yet another burst of wine-fuelled insanity, I've started another blog, over here: http://www.akentishkitchen.co.uk/ (Twitter ID @akentishkitchen). *End of shameless plug*
Two - you might have seen, around and about the blogosphere, that the Fairy Hobmother (aka Appliances Online, who sell cookers and other white goods) has been dishing out surprise kitchen appliance gifts to unsuspecting bloggers. Well, I'm happy to say that the Hobmother - actually called Dave, but we'll overlook that for the moment - would like to pay a similar visit to one super-lucky person who comments on this post.
So what are you waiting for? Get commenting. I don't mind what you say, but if you'd give me some feedback on the new blog, then so much the better. And please keep it clean. The Fairy Hobmother certainly won't visit you otherwise.
Good luck. Over and out.

Amazing. Am a sucker for any kind of kitchen gadget - ice-cream makers and breadmakers especially. To go with the unused espresso machine. Ahem.
Loved the photography over on the new site - really inspiring!
*waves* Nice to see you back :) Also, can only be a good thing to have more wine-fuelled blog postings - LOVE the new blog already. Also (again) I like free stuff. Especially free kitchen stuff... woot!
Wine-fuelled new blogs can only be Very Good Things in life! If Fairy HobMother Dave does fancy paying a visit, he would be most welcome. And probably get a piece of cake.
Well now, any comment here is going to look like a desperate and shameless attempt at getting an appliance, but the fact is I have been waiting for you to return to blogging for a while now so would TOTALLY have commented on this post anyway. I'm so glad you are back. Oh, and I couldn't take a photo cos I was in a bad rush but I saw ox tongue in Waitrose yesterday. And I thought of you. Nice, hey?
Glad you're back :)
I'm really looking forward to seeing your sourdough experiments on the new blog, with the daughter (Daisy)of my sourdough starter.
So my very best wishes for your new beginnings: glad to be a part of the adventure.
Good luck! Or as is said here: Pob Lwc!
Beautiful photography in your new blog! I'd really like a slow cooker if the fairy hobmother were to pay me a visit!
Love A Kentish Kitchen, especially your beautiful photography, and *especially* your elderflower fritters!
nice photos on your new blog. I love the simple and elegant look of your blog. Good luck!
gorgeous gorgeous photos on the new blog, particularly love the gulls eggs as I missed them this year.
*writes this from brand new house aka money pot with only microwave, kettle and 2 plug-in hob rings (really)*
Am just back from France, and the sardine recipe on your new blog made me wish I was back in the market there buying up fresh fish...if only I lived closer to the sea!
You were brought to my attention by Francoise Murat on Twitter:) Lo and behold appliancesonline was recommended to me today by a friend who was recommended to them by one of her customers! I certainly love both your new and 'old' blog. The new blog which I think is so clear, clean and crisp. Definitely going to try the Duck Egg and Asparagus. Your photos are excellent and as I need receipe ideas for my 13 yr old fussy eater who has been advised by the Dr to follow a more healthy eating regime (extremely fussy eater!!!) I shall be following and trying out your receipes or maybe he will as he does like to have a go at cooking:) Having seen what the Fairy Hobmother has to offer a A/A rated cooker would most certainly be appreciated:) But full of appreciation to you for the receipe ideas.
Always up for a slice of cake, especially chocolate cake ;-) Am now off to visit a Kentish kitchen.
good luck
I love the idea of the Fairy Hobmother; such a brilliant idea! One day I'm hoping I get paid a visit...
Your championing of gulls eggs has inspired me to put a new business proposition to Thanet District Council. Keep up the good work.
I espcially like the pics and the seasonality. Don't you mean celery salt not a pinch of celeriac though?
The photos on your new blog are really beautiful. Love the sardines one! How come you decided to start a new one?
As for the Fairy HobMother, I wouldn't say no to an ice cream maker. It is the summer after all!
Oh my goodness all this talk of food has made me hungry - really hungry! I have to say your lovely photo of the sardines has now reminded me of the makeral and potato salad I decided to knock up late last night for my lunch :o)
Can't wait for lunchtime now
I'm not just commenting to enter - also to say good to see you back! But, well, I do kind of need a fridge freezer and a toaster and GOSH - loads of stuff - life is hard when society allows you to move in with your boyfriend before getting married, removing the wedding gifts. Le sigh. Good to see you back, anyway. :)
Gorgeous, wonderful, outstanding, delicious hyperbole. I would love to win an appliance but I love your blog more.
Tru dat.
For some reason, I'm sorely tempted to ask you for permission to print out a giant copy of the picture of those sardines so I can mount it and hang it on the wall of the new Viking Kitchen. Seriously!
I'm really enjoying the new blog, AFoS - hoping to get to Borough Market and get me some wood pigeon this afternoon!
Wow, TWO blogs! Loving the look of the new one, look forward to reading more.
I would love to be paid a visit by the Fairy Hobmother. I am severely lacking in any kitchen appliances but covet anything coffee related....
pleased to see you return, looking forward to new posts and looking at new blog. i am a little confused about the fairy hobmother... Dave?? does he have wings??? lol
Great new blog - good luck keeping two up, I barely have time for the one.
The Hobmother is a great name and I hope to get visited by her/him.
Becs
Fab new blog - good luck keeping two of them on the go though, I barely maintain my single blog!
The Hobmother is a great, fun concept and I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that I get paid a visit.

I love the new blog and are gald you are back in the blogging seat. The style and images are just perfect and your words are always informative but with an amusing edge.
Plus, now you have converted to Wordpress I won't have to try and read the funny wobbly letters to prove that I am not a robot.
I wonder if you are going to keep both blogs going like some split personality blogger fiend...I quite like the idea of having 2 blogs so I can be all ranty and sweary on an alter ego blog!
I hope you are feeling better!
The photography on the new blog is amazing - those sardines look so appetising!
What inspired you to start the new blog? Just curious how it will be different from this one (I always loved this blog, so will be reading both regardless :)
The sardines in the first post over there look so lovely. As a relative sardine newbie: are you able to eat the whole thing (bones, head) or do you pick the meat off around the bones?
Love the blog, its my first visit but will be back.
Sorry fairy HobMother, I don't want you to think I am stalking you or that I am greedy but I really could do with a new washing machine. I am down to one cycle working and could really do without it breaking this month! Please please sprinkle your fairy dust this way...I would be very grateful xxxx
Impressive photos on the new site, made me dribble just looking at them! Even the cherries which *shock horror* Im not normally a fan of at all.
Two blogs. You are crazy. But inspirational!
Hi Helen, I had no idea you had a new blog. So I'm glad you directed me here. It's lovely, very clean looking and superb photography. I like the cut of it's jib. Obviously I'll add it to my reading list.
As for the Fairy Hobmother, I'd absolutely love a KitchenAid stand Mixer, preferably in Black. Or, a Magimix Ice Cream Maker, or a KitchenAid one...basically any one (invariably expensive)that works at the flick of a switch and doesn't require me to freeze a bowl for days before I can use it. Mwah Mwah - Dan
Love the new blog dearest, especially the Kentish asparagus & duck egg recipe. Just to plug my adoptive home county of Norfolk, during asaparagus season there's nothing more luxurious than Norfolk asaparagus and a fried goose egg - heaven knows what my cholesterol must be like, but it's bliss.
I've had something from the fairy, but wanted to say that your new blog is wonderful! I didn't know that was yours, and was thinking what nice photos etc.
I love your new site. Does this mean you are going to run both or let this one fade away? We all hope not! It takes so much effort to get a blog ranked and get traffic, I'm puzzled why you would start over with a new one. Anyway, good luck with your new venture~ I'll be by.
If Dave is still passing out goodies, I would love a juicer. I recently watched a documentary "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead" that extolled the virtues of juicing. Showed a couple of guys who really turned their life around with it and I'd love to get started!
How will Dave get in touch with me after I've won? :)
Sorry to hear that you haven't been well. I hope that whatever has been troubling you is over now and that it is smooth sailing from here.
