some ideas for broad beans, peas, and rhubarb

Yes, I know I haven't been here lately. A lot going on...

Still, just to prove I haven't been entirely idle, here's an article that I wrote for fellow Twitterer, @FrancoiseM's newsletter, published a few days ago. Have a squiz for a summery pasta, a recipe for pea ice cream, and details on how to make your own rhubarb drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.

Enjoy, and have yourself a great Bank Holiday weekend!

Souper (sorry!)
I can't wait for my peas and beans to appear. The first flowers are just coming. My rhubarb was a damp squib this year though. On to the Legumes!

Great article! I still haven't seen any broadbeans this year but I can't wait! I'm just gorging on asparagus for the moment.

Val - rhubarb tea? Made with the stems or the leaves?

Claire - interesting. I thought rhubarb was supposed to be easy to grow. Obviously not as easy as all that!

Foodycat - I'm eagerly awaiting broad beans, too. And, like you, eating vast quantities of asparagus in the meantime... ;)

I'm defo going to be on the lookout for broadbeans. I used to really hate them as a child, but feel inspired to give them a second chance. That pasta dish sounds really fresh and summery. Thanks!

I made a puree of favas and peas for Zephyr's dinner the other day. It sounds extravagant, but he only eats 100mL at a time, and I get the rest.

Katie - do, as they're quite different without their grey jackets on!

Heather - heh. Wise move. Cunningly disguised as caring mummyhood.
